With a compact drive and 9speed cassette, this could be a road bike. But with its flat bars and disc brakes it could be an urban commuter. For so many of our customers it is the bike that they have been looking for. Double butted aluminium tubing and carbon forks mean you won't be slowed by the wright of the frame. hydraulic brakes are reliable and once you've tried them you'll never go back to cables.

Hub gears have come a long way from the three-speed monstrosities fitted to old Raleigh bikes. The Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub is reliable, wide ranged and surprisingly light.

Ridgeback Rapide Momentum

Immensely popular locally and it's easy to see why. With flat bars for full control and decent sized tyres to put up with a bit of mud on the Silkin Way, trekking bikes are the bikes for many of our customers. The Ridgeback Momentum has been very well thought out. It's nimble enough to get you to work in good time but controlable enough to handle a range of surfaces. The front shocks take out some of the worst of the potholes and the lockout means you can put all your energy into speed when you want to. With 700c wheels it will burn off any mountain bike that chooses to challenge you on the road. There are a number of options in the range but the Ridgeback Momentum is the one that has our heart.
