Genesis Altitude 10

It's a bit of a mystery to us as to why steel isn't used more widely on off-road bikes. Once you've ridden the Genesis Altitude range it will be a mystery to you too. It's responsive, springs out of the bends and doesn't have that dead feeling of inferior tubing. Combine that with Genesis' UK design focus, Rockshox Recon 351 forks with motion control technology and lockout, 27 speed Shimano Deore transmission and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and you could pay plenty more and still not have a bike as good as this.

It's not just its striking green colour that makes this our favourite. The Core frame geometry is rightly well regarded for its performance across the full range of conditions and fork travel. This bike features double-butted 6061 aluminium tubing to shed the weight without compromising strength. 83-130mm Rockshocks Tora forks and quality transmission. It's a quality bike at an excellent price. And it's lime green.
