FAQs about the sponsorship deal

Is it really free?

Yes it is.

You do not have to pay us a single penny.

But you may have to arrange transport to races. We won't be organising anything like that but we will put sponsored riders in touch with each other so hopefully you can arrange to car share. You will need to join British Cycling which will provide you with insurance and a race licence.

If you're not currently a British Cycling member, we can help you with a discount on your joining fee.

What sort of racing can I do?

You can take part in any racing carried out under British Cycling rules. That includes road, mountain biking, speedway and BMX. You will be responsible for locating events and booking yourself in to them so you might want to make sure that you can get to the events you want to take part in.

Are you only looking for people who will win?

No. This sponsorship deal is all about helping people to take part in competitive cycling. We will not be offering sponsorship based on results. If you come last in every race you take part in, we will happy. We might help you to find some people to train with to improve your performance, if that interests you.

I am already in a club. Can I still ride for you?

If your current club isn't sponsored, you can ride for us as well as your existing club.

If your club is sponsored please come and talk to us.

If you race for us and for your club, we will expect you to race in Bicycle Hub colours for at least six races.

Can I be sponsored to race in triathlons?

Not at the moment.

This sponsorship is for British Cycling events only.

If you would be interested in being sponsored for a triathlon campaign come and talk to us. If there is a business case we might be able to help out.

I'm not sure I will be able to do six races. Can I see how I get on?

No.

To qualify for the sponsorship you must agree to compete in six races in 2010. If you can't commit to doing this, you won't be eligible for the sponsorship

Can I get a discount on any other make of bicycle?

No. Sorry.

But these bike brands are pretty fabulous.

What help will you want with publicity?

We might want to tell the papers that you have agreed to race for us. We might use your photo in the paper or on-line.

We'll be using a blog to keep people up to date with how our sponsored riders are getting on.

We will publicise your results on-line and maybe in the papers.
